My friends and I are trying to build a multi-part resin ocean table top. Our idea is to use layers of tinted epoxy resin to simulate varying water depths, from a clear shallows to a deeper blue. Within the resin, we plan to embed some tiny details like sand, shells, and marine animals. We're still debating about adding a shipwreck but it might be an overkill LOL
My main questions revolve around achieving a realistic layered water effect without visible lines between pours. What's the best way to prepare the surface between resin layers to ensure a smooth transition? How can we also best control the placement of the embedded items so they don't shift during the resin curing, especially in the deeper sections? How do we also minimize bubbles in larger pours?
If you have more tips beyond what I'm asking, please feel free to comment down below!
