Rubber mold issues on resin tire casting

Im trying to make resin tires for my Italeri kit but the rubber ones keep sticking to the silicone when I make the mold. Is there a good trick to keep them from bonding?

Yeah possible, just apply a clear gloss coat to the silicone molds so to prevent rubber from sticking.

I think that a shellac based primer would also do the trick, but I could be mistaken

Appreciate the tips! A clear gloss coat or shellac primer might do the trick, so I'll test them out and see which one keeps the rubber from bonding. Have either of you used these methods on small detail molds or just larger pieces?

I'd like to report back to the group with my results. The clear gloss coat was the winning ticket. The silicone mold was released from the tire without any sticking. I appreciate all the advice that helped me get this project back on track.

I once struggled with this issue when trying to cast small dashboard parts. A friend recommended using a silicone release spray, and it turned out to be a fantastic solution that didn't ruin the details.

I'll keep the silicone release spray in mind for next time I'm molding a detailed part. Does this type of spray affect the sharpness of the fine details on the final cast?
